Deadpool is another game removed from distribution, but if you have it in your library it’s worth playing on Steam Deck. The game has an ‘unsupported’ status due to numerous graphical bugs, but I was able to fix them.
There is a similar problem with graphical errors in Alpha Protocol – check it out.
Let’s get started with the guide!
1. First, download the game, launch and start the campaign. After the first video you will see graphical errors. Turn off the game and go to Desktop Mode.
2. Launch Steam and find the game in the library, right click on it (Steam+L2 by default) and go to Properties/Local Files and click Browse… (Steam + R2 by default).
3. Go to TransGame/Config/PC/Cooked/ – you shoud see Coalesced.ini here.
Problems with graphical artifacts were caused by Depth of Field. I disabled this effect completely.
4. This is an encrypted file with the game settings. I was able to open it, modify it, and re-encrypt it. Download fixed file below. Overwrite the Coalesced.ini file in the “Cooked” folder with the corrected file.
Go to Gaming Mode, start the game and BOOM – everything works fine. I recommend setting the screen refresh to 59Hz due to the forced 59FPS limit in the game.
